Nothing could be more frustrating or personal than weight. Your weight as it relates to your health is something you MUST discuss with your doctor. If you're happy with the way you look and feel, and your doctor is too, skip this whole page! But if you're not, for ANY reason, read on.
There are so many ways to lose weight in this day and age that there is no way we can cover them all here. Again, and we can't stress this enough, talk to your doctor about the best way for you. Once you have, the following suggestions may help. We have tried them, and they work. Eating healthy is a lifestyle. It requires discipline until good habits are achieved. Once goals are reached, the lifestyle must still be maintained.
Eating clean is a great start. In other words, eat foods that you buy whole and fresh, and prepare them yourself. Stop consuming added sugars. Stay away from ANYTHING artificial, including sweeteners. No soda! Not even diet. It is considered by many to be one of the worst things you can consume. Drink water instead. Take it from us, if you can last a month without it, and you see and feel what it does for you, you'll never go back. It's been years, and neither of us misses it one bit. These things alone may be all you need to lose weight, especially if processed and sugary foods are a staple in your diet. Give it two weeks, and you will start to feel and see a difference. If you’re already eating clean and you’re not losing, you could still be eating too much, and you may need to start counting calories. Yes it's a pain, but it works.
The Mediterranean Diet and way of life may take root from various countries but they do follow a similar pattern. All in all, this diet consists of fish, fowl, whole grains, legumes, dried beans and a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables. Red meats are taken in small amounts and in some cases, not at all. It is this kind of diet that has helped people from that part of the world stay healthy.

The DASH diet is becoming extremely popular among health-conscious people, mainly because it does not need any special recipes and meals. There are no special restrictions in terms of calorie counting and preparations as long as you avoid foods high in cholesterol and
saturated fats. The DASH diet plan is a healthy eating plan that concentrates on three essential minerals, which are considered to have a positive effect on high blood pressure. We do NOT recommend forsaking medicine! (See book cover.)

Dr. Martha Clare Morris’s MIND diet took the nutrition world by storm when it revealed the link between diet and cognitive health, particularly as we age. Named one of the best diets by scientists, doctors, and organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association, AARP, and US News & World Report, the MIND diet combines elements of the Mediterranean and DASH diets. It offers hope for an easy, non-invasive, and effective way to lose weight, prevent cognitive decline, reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, and promote vibrant brain health well into advanced age.
