I don’t think it would be overly dramatic or an exaggeration to state that fear is one of the most prevalent emotions in our society. Whether you watch the news on television or get your news through social media, podcasts, or websites, you see people regardless of political affiliation living in fear. Fear of not having enough food or a place to sleep, fear of violence for who they are or what they believe, fear over the future of their children, fear that their job might go away, fear that they will never find one, fear that they may be abused by someone who is supposed to love them, and countless other reasons that won't fit onto this page.
How can you fight it? How can you get through another day of it? How can you move toward a place that is free of fear and full of peace? A place where you can relax and breathe, not just during the workout or the walk you give yourself when you have the time, but by making it a constant in your life?
Our faith in God gives us that. We still have problems to solve, but we're not afraid of them. We're not here to say that our faith, God, and beliefs are the only ones that will get you there. Beliefs are personal, widely varied, and come from generations of culture and family. But we know that our beliefs have had prayers answered. More than once. Of that, we have no doubt.
Fear is a horrible thing to live with. We know. We were there. Faith can change that fear into motivation. A drive to keep trying. A way to look at life as a blessing instead of a burden. It may sound like a cliché, but it can bring light into darkness if you simply allow it to happen. Below are some resources to help you find yours.
